Latent terms

These terms govern use of the Latent Android application and supporting service. Latent is published by FlowBench, operated by Kye Michael Tonkin, ABN 49 476 860 632, in Australia. By starting the trial, purchasing access or using Latent, you agree to these terms.

What Latent provides

Latent is workflow and timing software for planning, timing, reviewing and recording film-development runs. It can help organise information about film, chemistry, tanks, reels, processes, inventory and history.

Latent is not chemical-safety guidance. It does not replace product labels, manufacturer instructions, ventilation requirements, safe handling practices or safety data sheets (SDS). You are responsible for selecting and handling chemicals and equipment safely and for following all manufacturer instructions and applicable requirements.

Account and trial

Google sign-in establishes the Latent account used for trial eligibility, access restoration and hosted recovery. Keep the Google account and device secure and do not transfer access credentials.

The trial begins only when you take the explicit in-app action to start it. It lasts exactly 720 hours (30 days) from the recorded start time. Each eligible account receives one trial. Reinstalling the app, deleting an account or using another device does not reset an already-used trial.

One-time purchase and restoration

After the trial, full app access is available through a one-time Google Play in-app purchase. There is no recurring subscription for app access. Google Play shows the authoritative local price and handles payment, applicable taxes, refunds and payment credentials.

Purchase restoration depends on Google Play verification and the account’s entitlement records. Google Play may cancel, refund or revoke a transaction under its policies or where a purchase is invalid. Latent may correspondingly remove or restore access when a verified entitlement event is received.

Deleting a Latent account does not itself cancel or refund a Google Play purchase. Refund requests must use the channels and rules made available by Google Play and applicable law.

Access expiry and read-only behaviour

If trial or purchased access expires, is refunded, is revoked or cannot be verified, Latent may enter read-only behaviour. Existing local records remain available to review and export where the implemented read-only experience permits, but creating or changing access-controlled data and using service features may be unavailable until access is restored.

FlowBench may restrict access reasonably needed to respond to fraud, abuse, security incidents, legal requirements or a verified Google Play revocation.

Hosted recovery

Hosted recovery is an optional, service-managed aid. Latent keeps encrypted recovery envelopes for the three most recent successful recovery days associated with an account. Recovery is best effort and may be delayed, unavailable or unsuccessful.

Hosted recovery is not live sync, a complete archive, perpetual storage or a guarantee against data loss. Its encryption uses service-managed keys and is not end-to-end encryption. The current operational database backups are encrypted but retained on the same host boundary; they do not provide host-loss disaster recovery.

Keep manual exports of data that matters to you. You are responsible for protecting exported files and verifying that they can be accessed when needed.

Availability and changes

FlowBench aims to keep Latent and its supporting services useful and available but does not promise uninterrupted operation, compatibility with every device or recovery of every record. Maintenance, provider outages, security events or circumstances beyond reasonable control may affect availability.

FlowBench may make reasonable changes to correct defects, protect users, meet provider or legal requirements, improve the product or withdraw a feature that can no longer be operated responsibly. Material changes that affect data handling or paid access will be described through an appropriate product, policy or store channel.

If FlowBench withdraws a hosted service, reasonable notice will be given where practicable and local/manual export options will be preserved where the application can support them. A one-time purchase is a right to use the applicable app-access entitlement under these terms; it is not described as “lifetime” access and does not promise perpetual operation of every hosted service.

Acceptable use

Do not use Latent or its services to break the law, compromise another account, probe or interfere with infrastructure, evade trial or purchase controls, submit falsified purchase data, redistribute protected application code or overload the service. Privacy and account deletion

The Latent privacy policy explains data handling, security, providers, retention and choices. You may initiate deletion in the app or through the external deletion pathway. Narrow trial-eligibility and purchase-ownership tombstones remain for fraud prevention and entitlement integrity as disclosed in the privacy policy.

Australian Consumer Law

Latent comes with rights and remedies that may apply under the Australian Consumer Law and other law. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies a consumer guarantee, right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded. Any limitation in these terms applies only to the extent permitted by law.

To the extent liability can lawfully be limited, FlowBench is not responsible for indirect or consequential loss arising from a user’s failure to follow chemical-safety instructions, protect exports or maintain an appropriate backup. This does not limit non-excludable rights.
